Peter L. Johnston, Esquire represents a Philadelphia man accused of selling drugs in the city and obtains for him probation which freed him from pretrial incarceration. Police allegedly observed him transact with other individuals who were subsequently arrested with controlled substances on their person. Subsequently, he was arrested after police searched a trash can he was retrieving objects from before handing them to the alleged buyer. Unable to post bail, the man remained in custody for several months. However, at a pretrial conference was able to obtain for him a probationary sentence in which he accepted responsibility for his actions and was freed from pretrial incarceration to serve his term of probation and begin to put the case behind him.
